ADR training of drivers

Training

 

Training of drivers of vehicles carrying hazardous loads may only be provided by educational institutions approved by the Ministry of Economic Affairs and Communications.

Training of drivers of vehicles carrying hazardous loads is available to citizens of Estonia or another Member State of the European Union or natural persons entered in the population register who have held the right to drive a power-driven vehicle of categories B, C1 or C for at least two years (the period of holding a driving licence excludes the period of holding a driving licence with the limited right to drive).

To participate in training of drivers of vehicles carrying hazardous loads, a person must submit to the training provider:

  • A driving licence, including a provisional driving licence, if it has been issued to the person or an ID card or another identity document.

  • A certificate of a driver of vehicles carrying hazardous loads if the person holds such a certificate.

 

Certificate of ADR training of drivers

 

The examination of a driver of vehicles carrying hazardous loads and the issuing of a certificate of ADR training of a driver of vehicles carrying hazardous loads takes place at the Estonian Road Administration.

An applicant must submit to the Estonian Road Administration the following documents:

  • An identity document.

  • A certificate by the training provider or information entered in the traffic register regarding passing the training.

  • A driving licence for the checking of necessary right to drive. Submitting a driving licence is not obligatory if information regarding the necessary right to drive is available from the traffic register.

  • Information regarding paying the state fee.

Registration for examination takes place at the Estonian Road Administration.

A certificate of ADR training of drivers of vehicles carrying hazardous loads is issued for 5 years to persons who have successfully passed necessary examination(s).

In case of refresher and updating training, the certificate of ADR training is extended for the following five years if the driver has passed a corresponding refresher and updating training within one year prior to the termination of validity of the certificate and passed a corresponding examination. The new validity term of the certificate will start from the date the previous validity ends.

The Estonian Road Administration will issue a certificate of ADR training of drivers within 10 working days.
