Fare-free public bus transport will be introduced in 11 counties

14. June 2018 - 8:21

As of 1 July, there will be fare-free public bus transport in Valga county, Võru county, Põlva county, Järva county, Jõgeva county, Tartu county, Ida-Viru county, Hiiu county, Saare county, Viljandi county and on bus lines organized by Põhja-Eesti Public Transport Centre in Läänemaa.

In counties where there will be fare-free public bus transport buses shall bear a corresponding sign as of 1 July.

Passengers are obligated to validate their Transport Card upon boarding the bus. If you fail to validate your Transport Card, you may be fined for travelling without a valid ticket. In case there are no validation devices on the bus, the bus driver shall issue a corresponding ticket to the passenger, thus registering their travel. The transport card costs two euros. One transport card is valid in all counties that have fare-free public bus transport.

Transport Cards can be purchased from driver or marked sales points. Money can be load onto your Transport Card so you can use it as e-ticket in Tallinn, Pärnu, Pärnu, Kohtla-Järve and other cities.
